MySQLMySQL is a software SQL database management system (English: a database management system) or the DBMS is multithreaded, multi-user, with about 6 million installations worldwide. MySQL AB makes MySQL available as free software under the GNU General Public License (GPL), but they also sell under a commercial license for those cases where its use is not compatible with the GPL.Not the same with projects like Apache, where the software was developed by the general community, and the copyright for the source code are owned by their respective authors, MySQL is owned and sponsored by a Swedish commercial company MySQL AB, which holds the copyright on all code almost the source. Both Swedes and the Finns who founded MySQL AB are: David Axmark, Allan Larsson and Michael "Monty" Widenius.
Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)MySQL is a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that is distributed for free under the GPL (General Public License). Where everyone is free to use MySQL, but should not be used as a commercial derivative product. MySQL is actually a derivative of one of the main concepts in the database for a long time, that is SQL (Structured Query Language). SQL is a database operation concept, especially for the election or selection and data entry, which allows the operation of the data is automatically done easily. Reliability of a database system (DBMS) can be determined from the workings of the optimizer his way to perform SQL commands, which are made by a user or application programs. As a database server, MySQL can be said to be more superior than any other database server in the query data. This proved to queries made by a single user, the speed of MySQL query could be ten times faster than PostgreSQL and five times faster than Interbase.
MySQL PrivilegesMySQL has several features, among others:Portability.MySQL can run stable on a variety of operating systems like Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac Os X Server, Solaris, Amiga, and many more.Open Source.MySQL is distributed as open source, licensed under the GPL so it can be used free of charge.'Multiuser'.MySQL can be used by several users at the same time without experiencing any problems or conflicts.'Performance tuning'.MySQL has an amazing speed in dealing with simple queries, in other words be able to process more SQL per unit time.Type Column.MySQL has a very complex type of the column, such as signed / unsigned integer, float, double, char, text, date, timestamp, and others.Commands and Functions.MySQL has full operators and functions that support the command Select and Where in the command (query).
Security.MySQL has several layers of security such as the level subnetmask, host name, and access permissions a user with a detailed system of licensing and encrypted passwords.Scalability and Restrictions.MySQL database capable of handling large scale, with a number of recordings (records) more than 50 million and 60 thousand tables and rows 5 billion. Also limit the index that can fit up to 32 indexes on each table.Connectivity.MySQL can connect with the client using TCP / IP, Unix socket (UNIX), or Named Pipes (NT).Localization.MySQL can detect the error message on the client by using more than twenty languages. Notwithstanding that, the Indonesian language has not been included in it.Interface.MySQL has an interface (interface) to a variety of applications and programming languages by using the function API (Application Programming Interface).
Clients and Tools.MySQL comes with a variety of equipment (tools) that can be used for database administration, and on any equipment that is included instructions online.Table structure.MySQL has a table structure that is more flexible in dealing with ALTER TABLE, compared to other databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle.MySQL Community IndonesiaMySQL is one of the main database used in Indonesia, especially among PHP developers. This is due to the native integration between PHP and MySQL and many hosting that includes both products for license-free and has proven resilient and efficient.
Microsoft SQL ServerMicrosoft SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS) Microsoft products. The main query language is Transact-SQL which is the implementation of the SQL standard ANSI / ISO are used by Microsoft and Sybase. SQL Server is generally used in the business world that has a data base of small to medium scale, but then developed with the use of SQL Server on a large data base.Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase / ASE can communicate over the network by using TDS protocol (Tabular Data Stream). Apart from that, Microsoft SQL Server also supports ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), and has a JDBC driver for the Java programming language. Another feature of SQL Server is its ability to create a database mirroring and clustering. In previous versions, MS SQL Server 2000 affected by the SQL Slammer computer worm which resulted in delay of Internet access on 25 January 2003.Version and EditionAs a development of previous versions and editions (SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2000), Microsoft has introduced a product:SQL Server 2005comparison of featuresEnterprise editions (x86, x64, and IA64)Developer editions (x86, x64, and IA64)Standard editions (x86, x64, and IA64)Workgroup edition (x86 only)Express editions (x86 which can be downloaded free of charge for the purposes learning and)Mobile editionCompact editionSQL Server 2008SQL Server 2008 that will be marketed in 2008.

DbasedBASE is a database management system (DBMS) that is widely used in microcomputer introduced by Ashton-Tate for the computer CP / M, and then to the platform Apple II, Apple Macintosh and IBM PC with DOS which became one of the best selling software for several years at the time. DBASE inability to transition to newer operating systems, Microsoft Windows eventually make use of dBASE replaced by other products such as the newer Paradox, Clipper, FoxPro, and Microsoft Access. dBASE ownership eventually sold to Borland in 1991 and in 1999 sold the rights to Borland dBASE product line at a new company dBASE Inc..Starting from the mid-1980s many vendors make dialects or variations on their products or in his own language. Including FoxPro (now known as Visual FoxPro), Quicksilver, Clipper, Xbase + +, Flagship, and the Harbour. They-meraka iniah informally known or referred to as xBase or xBase.Basic dBASE file format, known as a file. Dbf, is now one of the formats widely used by many applications that require a simple format for storing data in a structured way.dBASE dilinsensikan on its users for a period of fifty years during which it is impossible for the user to operate the dBASE during that time period.ClipperClipper is a computer programming language xBase family used to make the main computer program that runs on DOS operating system. More specifically, the clipper is commonly used to create programs that are associated with the database / business (eg accounting, management savings / loans, etc.).HistoryClipper was first introduced in 1985 by the Nantucket, which was later sold to Computer Assosiates, as a compiler for dBASE III which is very popular at that time. compile dBASE codes mean change of interpretation of the code (source code can be read by humans), which must be interpreted by the computer every time each line is executed, the P-code (or pseudo-code), which uses Virtual Machines to process p which has been compiled-code it. Although the P-code is not faster than the machine code generated by compilers of other languages (C + +), but the overall P-code is still much faster than the interpreter. As an established product, clipper widely used as one of the aides on the DOS operating system for several years, the development clipper also adopting elements from the languages C and Pascal languages, as well as features of Object Oriented Programming, code-block data type (concept hybrid of the macro contained in dBase), evaluators strings, and functions that make Clipper pointer tougher than when first introduced. Further development is when Nantucket's Aspen project a few times and then finally reach the stage of steady change Clipper to Visual Object Windows-based compilers capable of generating machine code than the Clipper which only produces P-code.In the present times, the Clipper language is still actively used on a variety of implementations, and further developed by various organizations / vendors. Clip, Harbour, Xbase + +, and the flagship are the kinds of products compiler that implements the language Clipper are currently in general have supported aspects of portability between operating systems is a better (DOS, Windows, Linux (both 32-bit or 64-bit), Unix, and OS X), supports the extension / localization language more, enriched with a better library functions, as well as support for various data formats such as DBF, DBTNTX, DBFCDX (FoxPro and Comix), Apollo, SQL, and more . Interestingly entire implementation is still retaining compatibility with standard syntax syntactic-known in the dBase / xBase.Firebird
Firebird (also called FirebirdSQL) is a relational database management system that offers the features contained in the standard ANSI SQL-99 and SQL-2003. RDBMS is running well on Linux, Windows, and on a number of Unix platforms. Firebird in the directed and maintained by FirebirdSQL Foundation. He is a derivative of the InterBase version of Borland's open source.New code modules added to Firebird and licensed under the Initial Developer's Public License (IDPL), while the original modules released by Inprise licensed under the InterBase Public License 1.0. The second license is a modified version of the Mozilla Public License 1.1.HistoryDevelopment of Firebird 2 codebase began early in Firebird 1 development, with memporting code-based Firebird 1 C into C + + language and is a code cleanup on a large scale. Firebird 1.5 is the first release of Firebird 2 codebase. This development is a significant advancement for the developers and the entire team in the Firebird project, but this certainly is not the end of the destination. With the release of Firebird 1.5, further development is focused on the Firebird version 2.
Change logThe current stable version is 1.5.3 Firebird. This release represents a commitment from the Firebird Project developers and bring some updates in the Firebird as one of the popular open source database.Version refers to the use of Native POSIX Thread Library of Linux as contained in the release notes are available at the download area of Firebird.Changes from previous versionThis new release brings renewal in the use of which permits the use charset charset NONE as transparent. This change was made on the internal core to make the charset NONE is easier to use in the process of data manipulation or in fields that use another charset. This release also adds the base configuration that allows the server to cancel the running processes associated with the needs of debugging time when performing the analysis error (bugcheck) or an exception is structured (structured exceptions).Previous versions of Firebird SuperServer has a series of backward compatibility issues associated with the link-time with NPTL (Native POSIX Thread Library) that may make distributions that enable NPTL library becomes unstable, but in the latest version at this time, these problems have been resolved. The current release is represented as a major upgrade of the database engine, which has been done by an independent team consisting of a number of programmers loose from the Source code InterBase (tm) which was released by Borland under the InterBase Public License v.1.0 license on 25 in July 2000.Naming conflictsIn April 2003, the Mozilla Foundation decided to change the name of their web browser from Phoenix to Firebird. This decision was taken seriously by the Firebird database project with the assumption that it could confuse the user as two different products using the identical name. Protests over this continued until the Mozilla developers made a clear statement that in fact the name Mozilla Firebird Firebird. This statement also makes clear that the name Mozilla Firebird is a codename for the project underway web browser by Mozilla. On February 9, 2004, Mozilla has finally changed their name back as the Mozilla Firefox browser, thus it automatically eliminates confusion for users
